Hmmm...yeah, I just didn't dig it. Perhaps I'll give it another chance. The liquor store I bought it from tends to forget to restock their beers so it could have been past its prime.
I like this one too, but Simcoe hops seem to be somewhat divisive in my experience. I love the smell of Double Simcoe, but I can see how the sticky booziness can be a bit off putting (even if it doesn't bother me:)
New layout is nice - gives a chance for the full shape of the bottle/label to shine:)
I haven't tried this one, but boy this is bringing back fond memories. Weyerbacher Autumn Fest was one of the first beers I fell in love with back around 2001 when I lived in Brooklyn and was exploring craft beers via Bierkraft and American Beer Distributors.
Have you had Weyerbacher Quad? One of the best beer/food pairings I ever tried was Quad with my own homemade pumpkin pie with whipped cream. The spices in the Quad married with the spices in the pie (I go full-throttle on the spices) to create a sublime pairing.
I'm so disappointed. This is one of my all-time favorites. In fact, I brew my own Simcoe-only IPA called Simcoe-dependency.
